We're in Senior Season at Shelly Rose Photography!

As the weather get's nicer here in Maine, the foliage has bloomed, and the flowers have blossomed meaning we are back in the full swing for photographing high school seniors. Both indoors and out, Shelly Rose Photography is equipped to handle any photo session that seniors can dream up! So, with that in mind, we'd like to welcome the graduating class of 2011 as they begin to book in their sessions!

We'd also like to flaunt the first two of our fantastic models we've had come to us from the class of 2011. Hayli Mulkern comes to our studio from South Portland, and brought her natural cheer-leading talent to the session to pull off wonderful photos like this one:
Our next representative comes to us from Scarborough High School. Christi was a lot of fun to work with, and the charisma she showed during her session definitely came through in her photos.
We're happy to say that great sessions like these, are only the beginning. And, because of that, we're offering a huge special until June 15th for seniors who book in early in the season. From now until June 15th our sessions are only $21 in honor of it being our 21st year in business. Also, for those that order their packages before June 30th they will receive 50% off their package!

These savings will be quite a kick-off to our season, and we're excited for every minute of it!

We have survived the spring season of Home Shows!

This past weekend was the Portland Home Show and it was a huge success. We met so many wonderful people, and we're hoping to see some of those people as future clients. Class of 2011 High School student preferably female need to model and represent Shelly Rose Photography. You will receive a 2 hour Studio and location photo session, makeover and 9 pose mini book. We will use your images to present to the class of 2011. Student's parents encouraged to meet with us for details. Students will be interviewed and eligible for part-time summer employment @ the studio. This is an excellent resume building opportunity for those interested in creative careers. We've been taking the internet by storm lately at Shelly Rose Photography! It started with the creation of this blog, then the much needed update of our website, and finally the time has come for a much needed Facebook Fan Page!

If you're a facebook junkie like we are, being a fan is probably the best way to keep up to date with everything that's going on at the studio. Holding Down the Fort

Shelly's been out of the country on a much needed vacation this week, and has left her more than capable cat, Chanel, in charge. Without Shelly around, Chanel has been challenged to keep me on task during the work day. She has, in my opinion, been doing an excellent job though. Maybe even too good of a job....

I am starting to really miss Shelly though, since I think the sudden inheritance of power is quickly going to Chanel's head. Shelly gives me a few much needed breaks throughout the day, but Chanel is a slave driver! If I take my eyes off my computer work for even a second...she knows.

She may look cute and fuzzy on the outside, but she is a cruel...cruel supervisor. Relaxation and fun of any kind are no longer tolerated at Shelly Rose Photography under this feline's ever-watchful eye. Work work work, and the occasional tummy rub (for her of course) is what I have to look forward to each day. At least Shelly will be back in a few days to take control of the company again. This kitty tyranny has to end.

Coming Together

I was incredibly excited to come to work today! Not just because the wonderful Mrs. Stephanie Lane was coming down from Augusta to work at my studio for the day, but also because Shelly promised pizza! :)
It's great when Steph and I get to work together. This visit was specifically centered around brainstorming our marketing strategies for 2010, but as always, we ended just being ridiculous and having fun at work. Like, after lunch when Steph and Shelly learned a closely held secret of mine; I am Iron Man.

Steph, being our resident genius at Shelly Rose Photography also made quick work of all the little technical 'what does this button do' type of problems I've allowed to build up at here at the Scarborough Studio.
All joking aside, thanks for coming down Steph! It's always a great time, having you in Scarborough! (thanks for cleaning up my messes too :p )

Never had a company party like that before! What a great time! Shelly had her house packed with delicious appetizers and kept the drinks flowing as we all celebrated our time together around the Christmas tree. Working at Shelly Rose Photography is a lot of fun, but trust me, partying at Shelly Rose Photography is even better.

With reservations at my favorite sushi place in Portland, Shelly then ferried us off to Fuji for some dinning excitement around a hibachi grill. Fires roared in front of us as our chef prepared our dinner. Juggling spatulas, flipping noodles into the air, and launching rice balls into our mouths while everyone cheered us on, our chef turned out to be more of an entertainer than simply a cook.

When we were filled with delicious food and had finished our meal, I thought we were gathering our coats to depart for the evening, but Shelly had other ideas. The night was young, so in the bitter cold we shuffled across the frozen Portland streets as we made our way to The Pearl nightclub to dance off dinner. The club was full of wallflowers when we arrived, so in true Shelly Rose fashion we journeyed onto the dance floor and started the party. After the rest of the patrons followed suit and joined in, we all danced the rest of the night away. All in all…it was simply the best company party I’ve ever been to and a great night out with awesome people.

Jealous? Yeah, I know you are. -T
